Pavilion T.I.E.S.
Together Including Every Student

Would your child like to join an after-school program, community sponsored activity, or pursue a hobby?
The TIES Program provides trained volunteers to support students with developmental disabilities from grade 3 to the age of 21 so that they can successfully participate. Volunteers are students within our school district in grades 8 through 12, who attend a workshop that presents valuable information about the importance of belonging, disability awareness, friendship building, and effective support strategies. Participants are paired with volunteers based on similar interests and desired abilities. I will work with you in developing a support plan for your child that would meet his/her needs and then share the plan with the volunteer. The volunteer attends the activity with your child and provides support with physical, social, and/or language needs. I will communicate with you and your child during the course of the activity and monitor the volunteer's effectiveness.
Collaborating with you and the volunteer is important in making your child's experience successful. Participants will have the opportunity to join a variety of activities such as:
Pavilion School District after school clubs/parties
Boy/Girl Scouts
District and recreational sports (YMCA, etc)
School and community-related activities
Please contact your TIES coordinator, Melissa Patterson, if you would like to discuss the TIES Program further at 585-813-8358 or pavilionties@pavilioncsd.org
