The Chromebook is not connecting to the Internet.
Please try a complete shutdown of the device then wait at least 5 minutes and restart the device. Please allow a couple of minutes for the device to restart and complete updates and connect to your wifi.

Make sure that you connect to the correct WiFi and are using the correct password.

What if we can't connect to Wifi?
Your child, while at school, can select a work "offline" mode for their assignments. This will allow your child the ability to work on assignments offline.  This will not work for assignments in which they need to connect to a website.

The District also has enhanced WiFi in the back parking lot of the school.  Students can use this location to work on assignments or complete the offline process so they can work at home. Please be respectful of social distancing guidelines.

How can I communicate with my child's teacher?
  • All teachers have access to a communication system called Remind.  This can be accessed through the Remind website or app.  With this option parents and teachers can connect to email, text, and by phone calls all from one place.
  • Website to register
  • Your child can also use this option to communicate with their teacher.

How can I see if my child is submitting assignments?
  • Parent Portal will allow you to access your child's grades and schedule.
  • Teachers will update this information by Wednesday at 3:00pm for the previous week's work.
  • Guardian summaries are an option that allow you to receive a daily or weekly email with information of missing assignments, completed assignments, upcoming assignments, and activities. Please contact your child's teachers to receive these.
What should my child be doing on remote days?
  • Your child should register their attendance between 7:00-7:40 each day that they are not physically in the building.
  • Your child should be looking at all Google Classrooms and working on, completing, and submitting their assignments by the assigned date and time.
  • If your child has questions they should reach out to the teacher through Google Classroom, email, or Remind.
How is my child's information protected online?

Please help your child to understand that they should not share personal information with others when online and should not share account information with friends. Account information should only be shared with parents so they can help with logins when needed.

Students should always logout of accounts when finished using them to keep them secure. This is NOT the same as selecting the X in the top right.  If they login to a site with personal information and a password they must locate the "log out" option to secure that information.

Please see our District Policy section for information on how Pavilion Central School complies with state and federal laws to keep your child's information safe.

My child's device is dirty, can I clean it?
Yes.  Please DO NOT spray anything on the device.  You can use Windex sprayed on a paper towel or other soft cloth and use that to wipe the device.

How long will a Chromebook stayed charged?
