Research Databases

Pavilion Middle/High School subscribes to several high quality databases. These databases can be accessed from any networked computer in school and from home through this web site.  A list and a brief description of the databases are found below.  Before using the databases make sure you log in and have your Database Sheet handy with login instructions and passwords needed to use each database.  Database Sheets are available in the library.

KIDS SEARCH AND SEARCHASAURUS*
Two similar databases that contain articles on most subjects from kid-oriented magazines and reference works (geared for the elementary and middle school student).

NOODLE BIB
A subscription bibliography builder that can produce bibliographies in MLA, APA, and Chicago style. The bibliographies can be accessed and worked on at home or from any computer with the Internet.

SPOTLIGHT ON NEW YORK
12 interactive e-books about the history of New York State (Can be used for Middle School Social Studies).

TEACHINGBOOKS.NET
One-stop shopping for tools used in teaching popular novels:  Sparks Notes, Cummings Guides, discussion  questions, literary links,  multimedia author programs.
