November 27, 2017 Minutes

The regular meeting of the Pavilion Central School District Board of Education was called to order at 7:00 PM by Board President Marirose Ethington in the high school conference room.

 

Board members present:  Marirose Ethington, Jeff Finch, John Bannister, Kevin Stefan (7:05 PM), Rebecca (Becky) Dziekan, Callin Ayers-Tillotson, and Margaret (Peg) Gaston

 

Board members absent:

 

Others present:  Kenneth Ellison, Stacey Tallon, Jon Wilson, Jim Helmicki and Donald Childs

 

Others absent: Sheila Eigenbrod and Mary Jo Pahl

 

Visitors: Six (6) per sign in log

 

APPROVE AGENDA:

**        Moved by John Bannister; seconded by Becky Dziekan to approve agenda with the change to delete the executive session; carried unanimously (6 votes)

 

CONSENT GROUPING:

**        Moved by Jeff Finch seconded by Peg Gaston to approve all items in the consent grouping – BOE minutes from 11/13/17; CSE minutes from 11/7/17; Sub CSE minutes from 11/7/17 and 11/14/17; CPSE minutes from 11/7/17; 504 minutes from 11/14/17; Appropriation and Budget Status Reports for A, C & F Funds as of September 2017; Treasurer’s report as of September 2017; carried unanimously (6 votes)

 

BUSINESS:

 

  1. Approve Tax Collectors Report:   

    **        Moved by Peg Gaston, seconded by Callin Ayers-Tillotson to approve the 2017-2018 school tax reports as presented by Donald Childs; carried unanimously (6 votes).

     

  2. Appointments:

    **        Moved by Jeff Finch, seconded by Becky Dziekan to approve the one substitute teacher application as presented and upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools for Deborah Patchin; carried unanimously (6 votes).

     

  3. Corrective Action Plan:

**        Moved by Jeff Finch, seconded by John Bannister to approve the Corrective Action Plan as presented by Donald Childs; carried unanimously (6 votes).

 

**        Kevin Stefan arrived

  • Suicide prevention presentation on January 18
  • Legislative breakfast February 3
  • Capital Day February 11 & 12
  • Tom Cox is resigning from GVSBA
  • Mr. Ellison and other Genesee County Superintendents meeting with Senator Ranzenhofer the 1st week in January
  • District participated in Engineering open house for 5th grade girls at RIT
  • School pride apparel sale profits going toward John Court Scholarship
  • Co-teaching initiative progressing well, yielding very positive results
